Internship at Pulse Hospital

DATE Apr 02, 2025

    SPEAKER Dr. Rajinder Kumar.

The students of B.A. Psychology Hons. Semester V of School of Sciences and Humanities of MIER College of Education undertook an insightful internship program as part of the NEP curriculum and completed a 15-day internship at Pulse Hospital under the guidance of Dr. Rajinder Kumar. Throughout the internship, students actively participated in history taking and mental status examinations, gaining direct insight into the diagnostic and therapeutic processes within a hospital setting. They interacted with patients under professional supervision and observed the nuances of patient behavior, diagnosis, and case documentation.
Each student worked on five detailed case studies, ranging from mood and anxiety disorders to substance use and psychosomatic conditions, which not only became part of their project files but also deepened their understanding of clinical symptoms, treatment protocols, and the therapeutic alliance. These hands-on experiences allowed students to bridge theoretical concepts with practical application, helping them develop empathy, observational precision, and ethical sensitivity—key qualities in psychological practice. Their work was supervised and supported by Dr. Priya Choudhary, Dr. Taniya Raina, Ms. Upasana Moten, and Ms. Sonika Kumari. This internship provided the students with hands-on learning, enhancing their understanding of clinical practices and contributing to their academic growth in the field of psychology.
