The B.Ed. Special Education (Intellectual Disability) programme prepares prospective teachers to impart education to all children including children with special needs especially in the area of Intellectual Disability
This programme aims at developing an understanding of the growing discipline of psychology and intends to enable students in developing skills and competencies needed for meeting the challenges and needs of the real world effectively.

The College stands recognized by the Government of J&K and is permanently affiliated to the University of Jammu. It is recognized by the University Grants Commission under section 2(f) and 12B of the UGC Act. The college has also been accredited twice with 'A' grade and once with ‘A+’ Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The college happens to be the first college of education to have been conferred with the Autonomous Status and Autonomous College Status by the UGC.
