MIER College of Education (Autonomous) recently hosted two vibrant and memorable farewell ceremonies to bid adieu to the graduating students at the School of Education (SOE) and the School of Social Sciences & Humanities (SSSH). Organized by the Co-Curricular Committee, both events celebrated the achievements, talents, and cherished memories of the outgoing batches.
The School of Education Farewell was held on August 2, 2025. The programme began with a warm welcome by Ms. Meenakshi (B.Ed. Special Education, Semester II), followed by blessings from Prof. Adit Gupta, Principal & Director, who encouraged students to uphold the values of integrity, service, and lifelong learning. He also shared exciting academic reforms for the upcoming batch, announcing that the college will do away with formal examinations and instead adopt innovative assessment practices such as open-book examinations, peer-reviewed assignments, and other student-centric evaluation methods aimed at fostering critical thinking and practical application of knowledge. A lively group dance by B.Ed. Special Education Semester II students set the tone for the event, followed by entertaining games, conferring of titles, and a captivating solo dance by Ms.Pragati. The titles were presented to Semester IV students by the Head and faculty members, acknowledging their talents and contributions. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Shreya Shan (M.Ed., Semester II), with compering by Ms. Kavyam Mahajan and Ms.Janhvi.
The School of Social Sciences & Humanities Farewell took place on August 8, 2025, at the college grounds. The celebration began with a gracious welcome by Ms.Priyanshi (Psychology Hons., Semester II) and blessings from the Director and Principal. The programme featured a variety of performances, including a ramp walk, a rap performance by Rudra Pratap and Himanshu (Semester IV), and energetic dance numbers by students of Semester II and IV. Interactive games, the awarding of special titles to Semester VI students by the Head and faculty, and lively compering by Mr. Riteshwar, Ms.Jaspreet Kour, and Ms.Ashika kept the spirit high. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Mr.Unmesh Kant Shah (Political Science, Semester IV). The lunch was organized by the juniors for their seniors as mark of respect and love.
Both events reflected the perfect blend of joy, nostalgia, and appreciation, marking not just the end of an academic chapter but the beginning of new journeys for the graduates. The meticulous coordination of the events was ensured under the supervision of Dr. Reeta Dwivedi, Convener, and Dr. Pallavi Mangotra, Member of the Co-Curricular Committee.
