Guest Lecture on Empowering Mobility

    The Special Education Department, School of Education, MIER College organized a guest lecture on the theme “Empowering Mobility: The Role of Physiotherapy in Inclusive Education.” The session featured Dr. Pallavi Gupta, Consultant Physiotherapist and Supervisor at Model Academy Inclusive School, as the distinguished resource person.
    The programme began with a warm welcome by Prof. Nishta Rana, School of Education, who greeted Dr. Gupta and the audience. In her address, Dr. Pallavi Gupta highlighted the vital role of physiotherapy in enhancing mobility and enabling the active participation of students with special needs in inclusive education settings. She shared practical insights into physiotherapy techniques that promote independence and active learning among children, emphasizing how these strategies contribute to building confidence and self-reliance. The lecture was highly engaging and informative, offering valuable knowledge to all participants. Students expressed that the session broadened their understanding of how physiotherapy serves as a critical support mechanism in inclusive classrooms.
    On this occasion, Principal, Prof. Adit Gupta lauded the initiative of the Special Education Department for organizing such an insightful session. He emphasized that physiotherapy, as an allied discipline, holds significant value in strengthening inclusive practices and ensuring that every child receives equitable opportunities to learn and thrive.
    The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Rajpawan Jangra, Associate Professor, School of Education. The program was ably conducted by Dr. C.R Jangra and Mrs. Anuradha Thakur, Assistant Professors, SoE.
