MIER College of Education observed World Mental Health Day with a special initiative organized by the Department of Psychology, School of Social Sciences and Humanities (SSSH). The event aimed to raise awareness about mental health issues and foster empathy and understanding within the college community.
The programme was graced by Prof. Adit Gupta, Principal and Director, MIER College, Dr. Monika Bajaj, Head of SSSH, along with faculty members and students. The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Neha Tewatia, Assistant Professor, SSSH.
The highlight of the day was a series of impactful role plays performed by B.A. Semester V Psychology students, showcasing conditions such as obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), Schizophrenia, Panic Disorder, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Through their performances, students combined creativity with psychological insight, breaking stereotypes and promoting a deeper understanding of mental health challenges.
The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Taniya Raina, Programme Coordinator, Department of Psychology, SSSH.
