Creative Literary Event “Whispers of Inktober”

DATE Oct 17, 2025

VENUE H.L Gupta Hall

The Literary Club of MIER College of Education successfully organized an innovative literary event titled “Whispers of Inktober” on October 17, 2025, celebrating the timeless allure of Gothic Literature through an engaging blend of art, analysis, and performance. The program highlighted the creative theme, “Just like petals unfold to reveal beauty, and prose unfolds to reveal meaning, our society blooms with ideas and stories.”
The event, held under the guidance and support of the Literature Faculty, provided students with a platform to express their interpretative and creative abilities. Arzoo Sharma (English Hons.) served as the host and coordinator, steering the program with remarkable poise and leadership, ensuring a seamless flow of all segments.
The highlight of the event, “Stories by Sirens,” featured insightful presentations and discussions by third-semester students from various disciplines. Aarish (Psychology Hons.) captivated the audience with his take on The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, while Seezal Khan (Psychology Hons.) presented an impressive analysis of Edgar Allan Poe’s literary legacy. Rahul (Political Science Hons.) intrigued the audience by exploring the Gothic nuances in the Harry Potter series.
Adding a dynamic edge, the program also included interactive sessions such as Letters from the Dead—a dramatic performance by Charu (English Hons.), an engaging round of Book Charades, and a spontaneous storytelling game titled The Unfinished Tale, all of which fostered enthusiastic audience participation. The event’s technical coordination was adeptly handled by Shivain (Psychology Hons.), ensuring smooth execution throughout.
The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Monika Bajaj, SSSH; Dr. Reeta Dwivedi, Convener Literary Club; Ms. Jasleen Mohial, IQAC Coordinator and faculty members of the English Department, whose encouragement added to the enthusiasm of the participants.
The debut of “Whispers of Inktober” was met with high praise for its originality, interdisciplinary collaboration, and student-led execution from the Principal MIER College, Prof Adit Gupta. He said that the event not only reflected the Literary Club’s creative vision but also underscored the vibrant intellectual and cultural spirit that defines MIER College of Education.
