The Placement Committee of MIER College of Education organised a comprehensive workshop on “Crafting Careers: Résumé Mastery and Interview Excellence” on 9th December 2025 under the College to Career Programme. The session was conducted for students of B.A. Hons. Political Science Sem V, M.A. Psychology, M.A. Political Science, B.Ed., B.Ed. Special, M.Ed., and M.Ed. Special (Semester III) at the Sh. H. L. Gupta Auditorium. The resource person was Mrs. Geetika Kohli, Founder of Thinksta—a Government of India–recognised Edutech start-up and MSME. The workshop aimed to enhance students’ interview preparedness and résumé-building skills, equipping them with essential professional competencies, including effective communication, interpersonal skills, and teamwork.
The programme began with a formal welcome, followed by an introduction of the resource person by Ms. Jyoti Sharma, Incharge, Placement Committee. Mrs. Kohli delivered an insightful and engaging session on crafting impactful résumés and mastering interview techniques. She emphasised the art of effective self-introduction, key components of a strong résumé, and strategies for confidently handling frequently asked interview questions. She highlighted the importance of clarity, body language, and presenting achievements, skills, and strengths convincingly to prospective employers. Practical guidance on structuring résumés, aligning career goals, and showcasing personality and potential was also shared.
The workshop was attended by Dr. Nishta Rana and Dr. Monika Bajaj, Heads of SoE and SSSH; Dr. Bharti Tandon and Mrs. Arpana Koul, Deputy Heads; faculty members of both schools; and more than 100 students. An interactive Q&A session enabled participants to clarify doubts and seek personalised advice.
Prof. Adit Gupta, Director and Principal, MIER College, appreciated the Placement Committee for organising a workshop on such a relevant theme, noting that strong interview skills are vital for successful employability. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Akansha Abrol, B.Ed. Semester III student.
